Vincent Thomas, who formerly served as vice president of operations for United Water Restoration Group (UWRG), is now breaking records as a franchise owner with the concept in Texas. 

UWRG is a leading restoration and reconstruction franchise with 95 units across the country. Thomas first found his way to the concept after working as an insurance adjuster. He quickly realized that there was a gap in the industry and a growing need for qualified restoration and reconstruction teams. He joined the UWRG team, bringing his courage and positive mindset to the brand.

After working alongside the leadership team and learning more about the business, Thomas decided to become a franchise owner. He opened his Arlington, Texas UWRG franchise last September, and in 87 days, he had exceeded $1 million in revenue. 

At the end of 2023, UWRG of Arlington had secured $1.2 million in revenue and broken every record previously set for a franchise opening with UWRG.

So, how did Thomas do it? He accepted the support of his wife — with whom he will soon celebrate a 27th anniversary — and aimed to make his mother, whom he lost last year, proud each day. 

Since his childhood, Thomas’ mother set a great example. When they moved to the U.S., she worked long shifts at a local grocery store.

“I thought we were poor growing up,” Thomas told The Dallas Express. “My mother was extremely frugal. I thought she worked at the grocery store. I didn’t realize until later that she owned the grocery store.”

“When I figured out that my mother could do all this, I told myself that I was going to shatter every ceiling — wake up and make her proud every day,” he added.

And he continues to do that. As Thomas looks forward to expansion with UWRG, he plans to continue breaking records. He aims to be the first person to $2, $3 and $5 million the fastest.

Thomas currently owns a 7,000-square-foot facility in Arlington, and he’s in the process of moving virtual Dallas and Fort Worth offices to brick-and-mortar locations. Grapevine and Garland are his next targets for expansion.

For other franchise owners looking to start a successful business, Thomas’ suggestion is, essentially, to do the hard work and be a good person.

“Know what you need to know and understand what you need to know,” he said. “Never ask someone to do what you are not willing to do for yourself … Be a good neighbor. Help other people be successful.”
