I came to the U.S. when I was 18. In Brazil, I was a competitive swimmer, so sports have always been a part of my life. After moving here, I started a family — I have three kids — and I worked in the mortgage industry, so mostly in finance. Kids have a special place in my heart, and I wanted to create something meaningful for them. That was the reason I came to the U.S. I grew up in an entrepreneurial family — my parents had a business, so that was always a goal for me. I studied kinesiology in Brazil, was a personal trainer and coached swimming from the age of 16 to 18.When I got here, I realized how hard it is to run a business. As a business owner, you wear so many hats&nbsp; —marketing, customer service, operations. It becomes all-consuming. I saw that in my parents' lives, and I didn’t want that kind of stress.Then I learned about franchising. I loved the concept: working for myself, but not by myself. What excites you most about this company?Brasil:&nbsp;Our family is very active. I’ve been involved in sports my whole life, and my wife was an athlete as well. This is not the easiest one, but we chose it on purpose because we can relate to it … When you think about it, we are helping vulnerable people — people in need — and that’s something we are already proud of.”<h2>Building a Legacy of Care and Connection</h2>More than just a business, Zirn-Kashoor and Landis see their Griswold franchise as a legacy — one rooted in compassion and community. “We are certain that our hard work will bring very fruitful income,” Zirn-Kashoor said, “and we hope that this is the legacy we can keep as a name for us, for our children and for our family later on. There cannot be a better legacy than helping people in need and caring for the community.”Even amid the challenges of launching a business, the sisters have found unexpected joy in the journey. “The most surprising part is how much fun we are having,” Zirn-Kashoor said. “We knew we would enjoy it, but we didn’t know it would start from day one. Both trained as engineers, but once they began exploring entrepreneurship, franchising offered them a path to independence that matched their drive and teamwork."[Hiral] opened a Subway restaurant in 2002 — that was our first franchise — and then we took over a few locations after that," said Hely. "We’ve been in the franchise business for a long time. I opened the first Tropical Smoothie Cafe franchise in Maryland back in 2011.
