Converting even just 5 percent of that audience gives a strong start.“The event is nonstop,” Strycharz said. “It’s three hours of kids in the gym, trying out equipment, getting a taste of what it’s like to train as a ninja. Parents are there, too, and we make sure they have access to promo offers, materials that explain the program, and the chance to talk to coaches.”But the real value shows up after the event ends. Through follow-up emails and Facebook retargeting, the team reaches out to every family that engaged in some way, even if they RSVP’d and didn’t show up.“We don’t just ghost people who missed it,” he said. “We let them know they were missed, and we invite them to book a trial class. That’s where we really shine. Those are all helpful, but the main place where you're going to grow your gym is by becoming an integral part of the community,” Strycharz said. “It’s about being out there connecting with schools, churches, homeschool groups, co-ops and anyone else who works with kids in your area.”&nbsp;Retention happens when kids feel like they belong and parents see real results. The programming is structured, with measurable progression. Kids grow in focus, physical strength and confidence. For some, it becomes a complement to other sports; for others, it becomes their sport of choice.“When you leave an impression, parents are going to talk about you, and that's going to drive your advertising costs way down, because they're going to sing your praises,” Strycharz said. “They're going to be raving fans, and they're going to be talking about USA Ninja Challenge, and you don't have to do a thing.”<h3>Building Momentum Before Day One</h3>Three months before the grand opening, franchisees begin setting the stage. In the first month, they’re finalizing staff, building out the gym and starting to show up in the community — not just online, but in person, where local families are already gathered.By the second month, it’s about traction. The goal is simple: one kid per day signing up for a trial class. Instead of just pushing out promotions, Strycharz encourages owners to share the story of their build-out — what’s happening in the space, what inspired them to open and how they’re preparing to serve local families.“People don’t want to be sold to,” he said. “They want to be invited into something meaningful. When they see a gym being transformed, when they hear why you’re doing this, that’s what makes them want to follow along and eventually get involved.”By month three, awareness should be widespread. If 50 kids a day are seeing or interacting with the brand — whether through events, social media or community word of mouth — the groundwork is in place for a successful grand opening and strong initial enrollments.<h3>More Than a Marketing Plan</h3>One thing Strycharz emphasizes is that the brand’s success isn’t tied to a single tactic or campaign. Every gym is encouraged to explore creative avenues such as setting up mini obstacle courses at farmers markets, attending street fairs, building relationships with local teachers and hosting birthday parties that double as trial experiences.“Our owners are amazing because they're the ones going out there looking for new ways of getting into the community,” Strycharz said. “They then can educate the rest of our franchisees as to, ‘Hey, we just did this, and this worked great.’ Then we have these conversations as a community, and we meet every month, going over what worked and how it can work for other gyms.”USA Ninja Challenge also supports new owners through a structured 10-week marketing training program during the ramp-up to opening. New franchisees are often grouped into pods to foster collaboration and accountability.“They’re all starting off and they can bounce ideas off of each other,” Strycharz said. “And it's very effective in making them feel like they have a community and that they have people to share ideas with.”The takeaway?
