Checkers & Rally's, the fast food fan favorite, is eyeing D.C. for 20 new locations. The brand, with 16 locations in the region, is currently seeking franchisees to come on board.

According to John Palumbo, Director of Franchise Develoment, the District in particular is under served with only one in the District proper. Palumbo noted that the new store model is particularly suitable for the D.C. area, because of its small 1,000-square-foot requirement.

Checkers & Rally's would consider urban, in-line stores, similar to those in New York City, but the main focus is on stand-alone locations. Palumbo will be attending The Franchise Expo conference this weekend at the Dulles Expo Center looking for area franchisees.
