Prior to opening, franchisees receive site selection assistance with a site-selection manual and non-chargeable assistance to help identify and evaluate potential locations based on parking, visibility and demographics. There is an initial three-day business operations training session held in Jacksonville. Franchisees are provided with a copy of the proprietary operations manual. They will also get specifications for the build-out, pre-opening marketing materials and mobile service setup.
Initial training covers business operations, machine maintenance and optional mobile services with 11.5 hours of classroom instruction and eight hours of on-the-job training.
Franchisees will get guidance with site selection and development. They will also receive marketing templates and sales aid, a grand opening program with a promotional plan for the first 6 months, ongoing strategy with local marketing activities, and a digital presence. Once open, there are regular consultations with the corporate team.
Franchisees must use either Wash Dry Fold POS or Cents. LaundroWorks is necessary for processing credit card, phone app, and cash payments. LaundryPay is an optional phone app payment system.
There is no specific experience required. WaveMAX is looking for applicants who are capitalized, coachable and committed to long-term ownership.
WaveMAX requires a full-time commitment due to the brand’s constant staffing and active supervision. Operators typically serve as the general manager if it's one individual, but if it's an entity, on-site supervision must be performed by a person holding 75% of the voting equity or an approved manager.
WaveMAX doesn’t offer direct financing but works with a network of laundromat-friendly lenders who understand the business model.
“As both an Area Representative and a proud WaveMAX store owner, I've experienced firsthand the power of this franchise model from every angle. A lot of people come in thinking, "I can open a laundromat on my own, how hard can it be?" But the truth is, it's not just about washers and dryers. Being part of WaveMAX means you're never on your own. You're surrounded by a network of people who've done it before and done it well. My location is one of the top-grossing stores in the system. We're not just opening stores; we're building a brand and a future, side by side.”
- Stephanie Lewis, Franchise Owner — Gaithersburg, Maryland
“WaveMAX gives individuals the ability to operate a business, but also focus on other aspects of life. Operating within the WaveMAX framework, while still putting your own touch on your dream of owning a semi-absentee business, is the perfect formula. Freedom to operate your business from anywhere through your phone, with a non-coin operated store. WaveMAX has figured out how to sophisticate an archaic industry through technology, marketing, area studies and continued operational improvements to stay ahead of the competition.”
- Caleb Allen, Area Representative — East Texas
“I chose to get involved with WaveMAX because I saw a unique opportunity to bring something the laundromat industry desperately needed: professional management, operational structure and a higher standard of excellence. Over the last seven to eight years, I've seen this vision come to life. WaveMAX has truly transformed the customer experience by creating a safe, reliable, and welcoming environment that people trust and return to. What excites me most is where we're going, scaling with intention and building it together.”
- Phillip Kennedy, Area Director — Georgia and Tennessee
The U.S. dry-cleaning and laundry services industry continues to offer growth opportunities as operators expand beyond traditional garment care. The market generated approximately $11.5 billion in revenue in 2024 and is projected to reach $17.4 billion by 2030, representing a 7.3% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). Growth is being fueled by increasing demand for convenience-based services, including pickup and delivery, wash-and-fold programs and subscription offerings, as well as recurring commercial business from hotels, health care facilities and other organizations.
While changes in workplace attire have affected traditional dry-cleaning demand, many operators are adapting by diversifying their services and adopting new technologies. Mobile apps, online scheduling, route optimization and environmentally friendly cleaning methods are helping businesses improve efficiency and meet evolving consumer expectations. For brands such as WaveMAX, these trends create opportunities to generate revenue through garment care, household textiles, alterations, delivery services and commercial accounts, positioning the industry for continued long-term growth.
WaveMAX's primary competitors include Speed Queen Laundry, Tide Cleaners, LaundroLab, Zoom Express Laundry and Maytag Commercial Laundry. While these brands compete for customers seeking convenient laundry solutions, WaveMAX differentiates itself through its large-format stores, attendant-supported service model, wash-dry-fold offerings and focus on semi-absentee ownership.
