What Franchises Does Venus Williams Own?

Venus Williams is not only one of the most famous tennis players in the world, but she is also a very successful entrepreneur. In addition to being a co-founder of V-Starr interior, the owner of the EleVen clothing line, and a New York Times Best Seller co-author, she is also a multi-unit franchise owner with Jamba. 

While looking for healthier dining choices, Williams fell in love with the Jamba brand, which was called Jamba Juice. She now owns four locations in the Washington D.C. area. 

"I share Jamba's mission to inspire and simplify healthy living and promote a healthy active lifestyle, and I am pleased to know this location will have a positive impact on the local community through not only our products but also through various programs and fundraisers," Williams said in a statement to the Washington Business Journal.

Jamba started in the seaside town of San Luis Obispo, California, in 1990 as just a single juice shop. Today, the company is one of the most recognizable smoothie brands in the country with over 850 locations in the U.S. and overseas. It is known for its made-to-order smoothies, juices and bowls. In 2018, Jamba was acquired by Focus Brands in a deal valued at $200 million. The Atlanta- based parent company is the operator of more than 5,000 restaurants, cafes, ice cream shops and bakeries.

Although there are no reports on the exact amount Williams makes from her Jamba franchise, it is estimated that each Jamba location generates about $754,000 in annual revenue.
