A varied assortment of franchise brands recently found themselves being praised for quick yet sustainable growth on the second annual Franchise Times Fast and Serious list (kind of like a fast and furious list, but with less Vin Diesel, presumably). The rankings were based on numerous factors, including percentage sales growth and unit increases.

Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt took first place for the second year in a row, but sweet treat providers were far from the only franchises to make a splash. Among the 40 brands to get some love from Franchise Times were Jersey Mike’s Subs (No. 12), Sport Clips* (No. 13), Which Wich (No. 21) and Right at Home* (No. 23).

While these businesses vastly differ, covering everything from sandwiches to in-home care, they all have one thing in common: bright futures.

For instance, Franchise Times reported Sport Clips saw 1,200 chains nationwide by the end of 2013, as well as $350 million in revenue. Future growth was supported with strategic partnerships with NASCAR and military veterans causes.

Meanwhile, Which Wich currently has 328 locations and is setting itself apart with non-traditional locales, such as convenience stores and drive-thrus, as well as branded kiosks, according to Franchise Times.
