There’s no doubt that Buffalos Wings & Rings is paving the way in the increasingly popular sports restaurant industry. The brand, which boasts 70 units globally, is entering new communities at incredibly rapid rates. And that business momentum isn’t showing any signs of slowing down.
In fact, Buffalo Wings & Rings currently has 16 stores under construction, with grand openings coming up in Lima, Ohio; Arlington, Texas and Walton Beach, Florida. That means the brand is on pace to be in a position to have one restaurant opening every month, which is up from Buffalo Wings & Rings’ previous pace of opening three to four restaurants every year.
“The amount of growth we’ve experienced so far in 2016 is incredible—we’re gearing up for record-breaking expansion,” said Philip Schram, chief development officer for Buffalo Wings & Rings. “It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Buffalo Wings & Rings brand, both on the corporate and franchisee sides of the business. We’re really setting ourselves up for nationwide success.”
That success is partially due to Buffalo Wings & Rings’ support system. The brand is hands-on throughout the entire grand opening process, starting with site selection and construction. Buffalo Wings & Rings has a construction manager who makes sure that restaurants’ openings stay on schedule. The brand also recently hired another manager who goes out into the field every week to check in on new locations, and maintain local relationships with general contractors and architecture experts.
“Our philosophy is to get new restaurants open as soon as possible. With construction, there are always unexpected delays. We try to avoid that by physically being on site as much as possible,” said Schram. “At the end of the day, all of the systems we have in place are to make the grand opening process as seamless and smooth as possible for all of our franchisees.”
Going into the rest of the year, and even moving into 2017, Buffalo Wings & Rings is expected to continue this rapid rate of franchise development. Now that the brand is opening up one restaurant every month, its goal is to keep pushing that number higher through new franchise agreements and multi-unit deals. In order to make that goal a reality, Buffalo Wings & Rings will continue to get in on the ground level of its franchisees’ business operations.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that Buffalo Wings & Rings will keep raising the bar in the restaurant franchising industry. Our support team is second to none, and its success is visible by the number of stores we currently have under construction,” Schram said. “We’re excited to continue this trend and see more restaurants open their doors in communities across the country.”
