WORKOUT ANYTIME, the nation’s independent fitness leader, is constantly looking for new ways to grow. The brand has been building on incredible momentum so far in 2016— not only did WORKOUT ANYTIME land a feature role in the blockbuster movie “Mother’s Day,” it opened its 100th location in the 1st quarter and plans to open another 50 by the end of the year. Now, in an effort to keep innovating and moving forward at a record pace, WORKOUT ANYTIME is adding new franchises to its system through a unique approach to commercial real estate.

Signing a franchise development agreement with a shopping center owner is a new concept for WORKOUT ANYTIME, but the brand is confident that the partnership will be a success. It’s teaming up with a commercial real estate developer and landlord of neighborhood based shopping centers throughout the country. The company’s properties are typically anchored by major grocery store chains like Publix. So when it was looking for a way to control the junior anchor in its shopping centers, WORKOUT ANYTIME was the obvious choice.

“This development group was already the landlord for a few of our clubs, so they were familiar with the way we run our business. That’s why it made perfect sense for them to take on the role of becoming WORKOUT ANYTIME franchisees themselves,” said Randy Trotter, WORKOUT ANYTIME’s vice president of development. “Our model is simple, and we’ve proven that it’s incredibly successful when paired with the right owner and location.”

There’s no doubt that WORKOUT ANYTIME and real estate development groups are a perfect match—the deal gives both companies a unique opportunity to grow. WORKOUT ANYTIME will bring hundreds of new customers into the developer’s shopping centers, ultimately adding to their bottom line. Grocery stores like Publix and other retailers will also introduce a new group of customers to WORKOUT ANYTIME gyms, helping the brand continue its expansion efforts.

“This deal is just another example of how WORKOUT ANYTIME is constantly looking for new ways to develop as a brand. It isn’t traditional, but this alliance will benefit both parties,” said Trotter. “Being active in commercial real estate has always been a priority for us. Our strong relationships with developers and landlords have now given us the opportunity to tap into a new kind of franchisee.”

WORKOUT ANYTIME will open 18 locations in the landlord group’s properties over the next six years. Six of those gyms will be up and running within the next two years.

“We’re really excited to see where this landlord franchise deal takes us. As soon as our gyms are up and running, we’ll have the ability to approach other landlords to create similar deals,” said Trotter. “This partnership is opening a door into a whole new market. At the end of the day, it’ll only help WORKOUT ANYTIME grow.”
