WRDW-TV: Combat-Wounded Army Veteran Surprised for the Holidays

It’s no secret that the holiday lighting and decorating brand, Christmas Decor, is at the height of its busiest season. But Kyle Flanagan, owner of the Augusta location, didn’t let that stop him from giving back to his community this holiday season. Every year, the Christmas Decor team chooses someone in their community to surprise with a free light and decoration installation.

“We decorate for almost two months around the area, and this is our last week of installs, and it’s just a really fun way to wrap it up. It’s always cool to see the reaction on people’s faces when they see it at the end,” said Flanagan.

This year, Flanagan and his team were touched by Matt Reddings’ story. Reddings is a local combat-wounded Army veteran. Due to his injuries, it can be difficult to decorate for the holidays. The Christmas Decor team decked Reddings’ home with lights, wreaths, bows and more. Flanagan was excited to give back to someone who had served the country.
