She uses her strong background in communications in conjunction with her acute business knowledge to drive franchise development forward for the hair care brand. She definitely is a Young One to Watch.

Why do you love franchising?

I love franchising for a number of reasons. It’s a world of unlimited opportunity! There are so many different brands, and so many roles to be played. While the industry is a huge sector of the overall economy, the beauty of franchising is that it has this feeling of being a close-knit family. People take the time to get to know each other in franchising and there is a sense of familiarity. In the end, we’re all in this together and we’re willing to share best practices.

Ultimately, franchising is an incredible opportunity that allows us to come into people’s lives when they are ready to make a positive change for themselves by starting a franchise. We can provide the tools and resources they need to take control of their lives and fulfill their dream of business ownership. That’s amazing!

What is the top challenge facing young people in franchising?

I think as a generation we want to feel like we are making a difference. We want to see that what we are doing every day has a direct impact, or we will find something else that better fulfills that desire. Unfortunately, sometimes doing the mundane stuff that comes along with a typical “job” just doesn’t provide that immediate reward… so, it’s important to sit down and connect what you’re doing back to the greater purpose of your organization. We need to remember that answering the phones or approving expenses is still important, and doing it well now will give us the opportunities to play roles that feel more directly impactful in the future.

What is your dream position/goal?

Right now I love working in Franchise Development, but the sky’s the limit!
