Social Geek Radio: Generating Franchise Leads Through Social Media

It's up to brands to determine which social network will get their name in front of the right candidates.

At last week's Franchise Leadership and Development Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, Social Geek Radio co-host Jack Monson had the opportunity to moderate a panel of franchising experts. Aaron Goldberg, vice president of franchise development for ZIPS Franchising, Philip Schram, chief development officer at Buffalo Wings & Rings and Paul Pickett, chief development officer at Wild Birds Unlimited* all gathered to discuss how to effectively use social media to generate leads.

During this week's podcast, Monson recapped the highlights that came from their conversation. The main takeaway revolved around brands understanding their ideal candidates-- franchisors should utilize the social network that will get their name in front of the right prospects. Brands with an owner-operator model, for example, traditionally find success on Facebook. However, brands with an investor model are better off using LinkedIn to secure leads.

Monson also mentioned that this discussion will continue at another panel happening on Tuesday, October 13 in Chicago, IL at No Limit Agency*. Monson will be joined by Bridget Vetter, manager of marketing and PR at Toppers Pizza*, Dana Farber, director of PR and brand development at The Barre Code and Kyle Welch, president of Chicago Scoops to go beyond the basics of social media marketing.
