Papa Murphy’s is heading into the new year with one major mission: to bring its signature take ‘n’ bake pizza to more communities across the country at a rapid rate.

In order to make that goal a reality, the leading pizza brand is continuing its tradition of growing strategically—Papa Murphy’s expands in areas that are already familiar with its unique concept to capitalize on strong brand awareness. Lansing, Michigan is one of those key development markets. Even though the city itself doesn’t currently have its own Papa Murphy’s location, the brand has already experienced success in the state.

“Lansing provides Papa Murphy’s with a unique development opportunity. The area is packed with potential customers, from busy families to hard-working professionals. And because we’ve already experienced success across the state, they’re familiar with what we bring to the table,” said Jayson Tipp, Chief Development Officer for Papa Murphy’s. “In my experience, the more brand awareness and visibility we have in an area, the faster we’re able to develop. That’s why we’ve identified priority markets to focus our new store growth efforts.”

Lansing is a part of Papa Murphy’s Growth Market Development Incentive Program, which is designed to encourage continued growth in priority cities across the country. Entrepreneurs who sign an ADA or MSS agreement to open a minimum number of stores within five or fewer years (store minimum will result in one store per 80,000 population within an identified market), will receive a reduced franchise fee and the royalty fee will be waived for the first 12 months a new store is open.

Despite the fact that the pizza industry is more competitive than ever, Papa Murphy’s offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity for prospective business owners in the Lansing area. The brand’s stores don’t require the space or equipment that typically come with running a pizza place—instead of cooking pizzas in-house, Papa Murphy’s prepares freshly made pies that are taken home for families to bake at their convenience. That means stores don’t require ovens or freezers.

“There’s never been a better time to join Papa Murphy’s growing franchise system. Between our proven model and affordable Growth Market Development Incentive, we’re positioned for a successful start to the new year,” said Tipp. “The demand for convenience without sacrificing quality is at an all-time high, and Papa Murphy’s perfectly caters to that trend.”
