That doesn&rsquo;t necessarily mean a big city&mdash;there are a ton of small cities across the country that are ideal for businesses. To identify those cities, <a href="https://wallethub.com/edu/best-small-cities-to-start-a-business/20180/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=fox-business-best-and-worst-small-cities-to-launch-a-new-business-2706288" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">WalletHub rounded up the top best and worst small cities in which to launch a business</a>. The lists were comprised after WalletHub analyzed data of more than 1,200 small-sized cities using 18 different metrics including investor access and labor costs.

Holland, Michigan took the top spot on WalletHub&rsquo;s list of 2018&rsquo;s top small cities in which to start a business, followed by St. George, Utah; Aberdeen, South Dakota; Wilson, North Carolina and Cheyenne, Wyoming. On the other side of the spectrum, Suisun City, California was named the worst small city in which to start a business. California claimed seven of those spots in the top 10, with Eastvale, Saratoga, Belmont and Crofton rounding out the top five.
