New Haven Register: The Melting Pot Fondue Restaurant Targeting New Haven for New CT Location

After the Darien, Connecticut Melting Pot restaurant closed this March, the brand refocused its attention in order to revive its presence in the state. As it focuses on the New Haven area for development, the franchisor is already working with two new franchisees, Daina Senatore and Jonathan Reeve, to secure real estate for the next Connecticut restaurant.

Collin Benyo, franchise growth specialist at The Melting Pot, told the New Haven Register that the team is already working with a real estate broker to find a prime location.

“We’re eager to get in and get started and see what’s available,” he said.

While just one location is in the works right now, Benyo explained that the brand has a powerful impact on guests due to its unique offerings. For many, The Melting Pot is synonymous with experiential dining and fondue.

“People travel very long distances to go to a Melting Pot,” he added. “[Daina and Jonathan] knew immediately that if we put up a new one in New Haven, this will attract people from long distances who are craving that experience again.”

The new owners are focused on New Haven for immediate expansion, but the pair and the Melting Pot leadership team agree that there is potential for future expansion in the Hartford area.

The Connecticut signing comes after a strong push from the franchisor for existing restaurants to remodel, embracing what is affectionately referred to as Melting Pot Evolution. Existing stores are remodeling to embrace more modern motifs and an updated floor plan, and the results are already clear — remodeled restaurants are already seeing strong spikes in performance.

The New Haven location will embrace the new prototype, bringing an updated version of The Melting Pot to the local community as the brand continues to expand throughout the state.
