AL.com: International Chicken Franchise Looking to Locate in Alabama

In an interview with AL.com, Pollo Campero’s Director of Franchise Development, Blas Escarcega, spoke on expanding the Central American legacy brand into Alabama. The brand is seeking business-savvy franchisees to lead its growth in new territories and bring the chain to hungry patrons statewide.

“We want to bring our flavors to people who know the brand and those who have never experienced it before,” Escarcega said. “We have the best chicken in the world. It’s flavorful, it comes out tender, crunchy, and juicy, and we know the Southeast loves fried chicken. We believe there’s enough space for us.”

Pollo Campero aims to start in Birmingham, Alabama, and then after that opening in fourth-quarter 2023, they will expand to nine additional locations across the state. Pollo Campero currently operates in 18 states, including Georgia, Florida and Tennessee.

“We’ve been very successful in the Southeast,” Escarcega said. “And we do have a lot of interest from people in Alabama, who go to our locations in Atlanta and Nashville. We also have our legacy customers from Central America who are familiar with the brand.”
