After more than 100 consecutive months of growth in its 350-plus locations across the United States, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®, the first and largest franchised moving company in North America, is currently seeking new franchise partners in Northern Virginia and Maryland.

“TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is committed not only to Moving People Forward, but continuing to move the company forward, as well,” said TWO MEN AND A TRUCK Compliance Director Pam Batten. “After years of strong growth from our successful franchises in Virginia and Maryland, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is in an optimal position to expand its footprint in both states by offering additional business opportunities for local entrepreneurs.”

After the company’s first Virginia franchise opened in 2013, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has added nine locations in the state, with five territories currently available, including Bristol, Winchester, Fredericksburg, Woodbridge and Centreville. According to a recent U.S. Census Bureau report, Northern Virginia is home to five of the 20 counties in the nation with the highest median household incomes, and the city of Manassas, in addition to Boutetourt and Faqueir Counties have availability for a new TWO MEN AND A TRUCK territory.

Franchisees Nathan Bocock and Bryan and Rebecca Feldman own several TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchises in Virginia, including Richmond, Chesterfield and Charlottesville. One reason they believe the brand has been so successful in Virginia is because many people in the market move frequently.

“Virginia is unique in that it has a dense population that is also very transient, with a lot of people moving on a regular basis,” Bocock said. “The area’s federal and state government, military, education and healthcare presence leads to new residents moving in and out, and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK has been successful in this area because we have been proactive in seeking new opportunities within these industries.”

Rebecca also points to TWO MEN AND A TRUCK’s skilled and supportive management as a factor of the brand’s boom in Virginia.

“Our system works, and with good management, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK franchisees thrive,” Rebecca said. “Plus, with the name recognition already created in the area, current franchises and new franchises will continue to grow. Thanks to great staff and excellent leaders, we have been able to grow our bench and create a terrific work environment.”

Bocock and the Feldmans have continued to expand their presence in Virginia. In January 2018, the trio partnered with new franchisees Stephen Milne and Trent Tuttle to open TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations in Newport News and Norfolk. Tuttle served as an intern for TWO MEN AND A TRUCK in Richmond in 2017, and Milne began his TWO MEN AND A TRUCK journey in 2012 as a sales representative and worked his way up.

“We were able to offer them the opportunity, and they were able to offer us the onsite management that is needed in a franchise, so it was a natural fit for us,” Rebecca said. “As a franchise group, it is important for us to help others and provide opportunities for growth to our employees.”

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK is also poised to expand in Maryland. There are six successful franchises in the state, and six territories are currently available in Carroll County, Frederick County and Baltimore County. Boasting a population of more than six million, a prospering economy driven by strong cancer research, education, government, healthcare, mortgage and insurance industries, and located near Washington, D.C., the area is primed for new TWO MEN AND A TRUCK locations.

“The company has enjoyed a continued successful presence in Maryland, and we have ample opportunity to grow throughout the state with franchisees who are dedicated to providing the highest quality service and experience to customers,” Batten said.

People in Maryland and Northern Virginia interested in a franchise opportunity with TWO MEN AND A TRUCK should have $190,000 in liquid assets and $400,000 in net worth. The initial investment to open a TWO MEN AND A TRUCK ranges from $95,000 to $670,000 depending on several factors, including authority fees that vary by state, store location and trucks.
