1. It was estimated that there were 745,078 franchise establishments in operation in the U.S. in 2017.

2. The number of franchise establishments increased an average 1.6% in 2017 across all 10 business-format lines.

3. The personal services line takes the lead with 2.5% in franchise establishments growth, followed closely by the quick service line at 1.8% growth.

4. Estimated franchise employment in 2017 was 7,878,800.That’s a year-over-year increase of 3.1%.

8. More than 22% of the 988 companies that submitted their information for Entrepreneur’s 2017 Franchise 500 ranking started franchising in the past five years.

10. 76% of all voters have a favorable view of neighborhood family-owned franchise businesses according to www.franchiseeconomy.com.
