McDonald’s Testing New McNuggets
The iconic McNugget is getting a makeover. McDonald’s has announced it is testing a new recipe without any artificial preservatives for the classic menu item. While the fast-food giant isn’t releasing full details of the new recipe, the Golden Arches has said the new McNuggets will not have any sodium phosphates, and they will not be fried in oil containing the preservative TBHQ. This comes as many companies are making changes for simpler menu items based on customer demands.


Chipotle Reports First Quarterly Loss Ever
After an E. coli outbreak late last year, Chipotle has reported it’s first-ever quarterly loss in the first quarter of 2016. The fast-food chain had a 30-percent sales decline during that time. While this was Chipotle’s first-ever quarterly loss, the decline was smaller than analysts expected. Over the last six months, the company stock is down 36 percent. Chipotle plans on bouncing back by continuing to focus on serving high-quality food.


Pizza Hut Begins Sharing Delivery Time
Customers will now be able to see when their pizzas will be ready for delivery and carryout when ordering from Pizza Hut. The chain has debuted the new “Visible Promise Time” feature that shows the wait times for delivery and carryout. The Plano, Texas-based brand is now providing customers an estimated 10-minute window of when their food will be ready prior to placing an order.


CREAM Introduces New Black Raspberry Swirl
The San Francisco-based dessert franchise, CREAM has introduced the new We Be Jamm’n ice cream and the CREAMfetti Cookie. The We Be Jamm’n ice cream uses CREAM’s super-premium French Vanilla ice cream, black raspberry jam and chocolate chunks. The CREAMfetti Cookie features the flavors of a birthday cake with bright sprinkles.


Pieology Channels the Flavors of the Southwest
Fans of Pieology Pizzeria can now enjoy two new limited-time pizzas featuring the flavors of the Southwest. The new Spicy Southwest pizza features an olive oil base with red enchilada sauce, mozzarella, cheddar cheese, roasted red peppers, jalapenos, cilantro, and all-natural chicken topped with optional red sour cream. The new Chicken Chile Verde also features an olive oil base and includes green enchilada sauce, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, diced mild green chile and cilantro topped with optional green sour cream.
