U.S. Franchises Add 25,600 Jobs
Franchise jobs gains have slowed in this past November with $25,600 jobs added last month. This is nearly half of the jobs added in the previous month, with 52,600 jobs added in October. In November, restaurants added the most jobs with 15,060. Auto parts and dealer franchises came in second with 6,630 jobs added.
Subway Names New CMO
Former Coca-Cola executive Joseph Tripodi has been named Chief Marketing Officer for Subway. Tripodi replaced Tony Pace, who announced he would be stepping down to start his own business venture. In this new role, Tripodi is tasked with remaking Subway’s public image in the wake of the Jared Fogle scandal. He will also head the sandwich brand’s marketing, product quality and food safety, public relations and other duties.
Jimmy John’s to Remain Private
The sandwich chain Jimmy John’s has scraped plans for an initial public offering. Jimmy John Liautaud, the majority shareholder, said he scrapped the plan to focus on running the company. The Champaign, Illinois-based chain was originally slated to begin its roadshow with potential IPO investors in October.

Bacon is the star of Papa Murphy’s new Bacon Bacon Bacon Pizza. The limited-time only pizza offering features Canadian bacon, crispy bacon and pepper bacon with mixed onions and Papa Murphy’s dough. Customers are also able to add their favorite ingredients to the pizza. The Bacon Bacon Bacon Pizza will be available at participating locations through Dec. 30, 2015.
