Back Yard Burgers, one of America’s favorite better burger brands, has once again helped turn hallowed SEC turf into a primetime stage for two storied Tennessee high school football programs. Maplewood High School squared off against Springfield High School under the lights at Vanderbilt Stadium in the second annual Back Yard Burgers Bowl on Friday, September 4.

The partnership with Maplewood was born three years ago after Back Yard Burgers donated funds to help the school furnish a new cafe. Since then, the relationship has been strengthened as Back Yard Burgers continues to find new ways to give back to the Nashville area community.

“It’s great for community morale,” Maplewood High School Executive Principal Dr. Ron L. Woodard told Nashville’s NewsChannel 5. “It’s great for the kids. It’s great for parents and families, and a great evening of football in a great atmosphere.”

Back Yard Burgers chefs also helped fill the stomachs of hundreds of hungry fans, grilling fresh Black Angus burgers and chicken sandwiches at the stadium. It’s just one way the growing brand is giving back to the communities it serves.

In October, Back Yard Burgers fans will get the chance to “Pink Their Drinks” through an awareness campaign for breast cancer awareness month. Back Yard Burgers’ partnership with Dine Out for No Kid Hungry is also expanding. The brand has set an ambitious goal to raise at least $50,000 to help combat childhood hunger in America during the annual fundraising drive that will run through the end of September.
