AdAge: Pizza Hut Takes Over From Papa John's as the Official Pizza of the NFL

The franchise will gain access to all 32 team marks and begin working with the league in April.

As Papa John's steps away from its official sponsorship of the NFL, Pizza Hut is stepping into the open role. According to a recent article in AdAge, the franchise has signed a multi-year agreement as the league's official pizza sponsor.

"We know many of our fans enjoy pizza while watching NFL games and we are thrilled to have Pizza Hut, an industry leader and one of America's favorite brands, as an official league sponsor. Pizza Hut has the creativity we are looking for in a partner," said Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner.

This will not be the brand's first sports sponsorship role, as it has been a supporter of the NCAA since 2016. Pizza Hut will begin its work with the NFL in time for the 2018 NFL Draft in April. As a result of the deal, the franchise will have access to all 32 football team marks.

Papa John's recently announced that they would be cutting ties with the NFL, following a year of strained relationships between the brand and the league. Despite the cut, the pizza chain will continue to work alongside 22 teams.
