Advertising Age: Fast-Casual Chain Freshii to Waive Fee for a Franchisee if Cubs Win the Series

Cubs fever has hit Freshii as they offer waived franchise fee if the Chicago Cubs win the World Series.

Sounds like the fast-casual chain Freshii has some serious Cubs fever and is hoping they can find a Cubs fans who wants to be a part of their system. According to a recent Advertising Age article, Freshii is offering to waive the franchise fee of $30,000 for one Chicago Cubs fan if the team wins the World Series.

"If (read: when) the Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series, Freshii will give away one free franchise location to a franchise partner new to the system," Freshii said in a statement Wednesday.

While the restaurant is technically from Toronto, they like to call Chicago home since it is where the brand’s U.S. headquarters is located. For the record, Freshii has no affiliation to the Cubs. The healthy salads and rice bowls the company offers do not quite fit in with the typical food offered at Wrigley Field.

But the winning franchisee cannot be just anyone. The winner will need to be a “lifelong Cubs devotee” that could open their location close to Wrigley Field and also meet all of the company’s standard criteria for being a franchisee.

Freshii is not new to finding their franchisees in unique and alternative ways. Just this year, the company’s founder wrote an open letter to juice and frozen yogurt franchisees giving them the chance to make the move to Freshii.
