Burger King Spain has taken advantage of the major impressions Instagram Stories garner by creating an engaging way to interact with the brand.
Adweek outlined the franchise's creative approach to promoting their famous Whopper. In nine stories, one for each Whopper ingredient, users were asked to pick their favorite toppings using Instagram's polls feature. Once users completed the nine polls, a unique coupon was generated for fans to redeems their customized burger, for free.
Without any paid media, the franchise generated 270,000 interactions, 45,113 unique users and 34,675 custom Whopper coupons. The data gathered resulted in the "InstaWhopper" based on the most popular ingredients. The burger will be available at all Burger Kings in Spain for a limited time.
