Adweek: Disney Touts 2 New Streaming Services, Including ESPN Plus and One With a Live-Action Star Wars Series

One will launch in the spring and one will launch in 2019.

Disney is planning to get involved in the video streaming world. According to a recent article in Adweek, the brand will be launching and ESPN centered service in the spring as well as a Disney branded service in 2019. 

The Disney platform will include exclusive film releases each year as well as a few original series. This will include a live-action Star Wars series and a High School Musical themed series. 

The ESPN platform will feature scores and highlights from different sporting events as well as live streaming opportunities. CEO Brad Iger says that the service, "will have less volume than a Netflix, and our pricing will reflect that.”
