AI Could Push Unemployment to 20% — Fueling a Surge in First-Time Franchise Buyers

In a candid and urgent interview with Axios, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei warns that artificial intelligence could eliminate half of all entry-level white-collar jobs within one to five years, potentially spiking U.S. unemployment to 10-20%. Amodei, whose company is a major player in the AI space, believes society is drastically underestimating the speed and scale at which this disruption is unfolding.

According to Amodei, AI-powered agents — software that can perform complex tasks traditionally done by humans — are already in development or deployment at major companies.
