As many have noticed, there have been significant changes with the Twitter Timeline in the past couple of months. No one is surprised that Twitter will soon be rolling out another new element to the Timeline  somewhat similar to Facebook –an algorithm. The algorithm is now “judging” what will be interesting to you based on your interests, your interactions and those in your network. This may result in a lot of unfollows, which should give brands the incentive to clean up their content and use sharp imagery, as every tweet will soon count to gain and keep followers. Brands are probably already trembling knowing they are now going to have to manage two different algorithms properly to ensure messaging is distributed. Others will be trying to figure out how to “master” the Timeline to get the most engagement. Unfortunately nobody really has an answer on how to dominate social algorithms, however there is one piece of advice you should stick to no matter the changes implemented by Facebook and Twitter: keep producing strong content. Brands need not waste their efforts on finding tricks and tips to reach more fans. Instead, focus on the one thing you can control –your messaging. Clean up your content and the results will show.
