Here&rsquo;s a sobering statistic: alcohol consumption declined by 0.8 percent last year, according to a <a href="https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/americans-are-consuming-less-booze-leading-retailers-to-shift-focus?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=americans-drank-less-alcohol-again-last-year-2708946" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Fox Business</a> report citing data compiled by the <a href="https://www.wsj.com/articles/americans-are-drinking-less-alcohol-11547733600?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=americans-drank-less-alcohol-again-last-year-2708946" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank">Wall Street Journal</a>. 
 
Americans continued the previous year&#39;s trend of drinking less of all types of booze, but beer drinking showed the steepest drop, according to the article. Millennials&rsquo; attention to healthy living and an increased interest in cannabis-infused products are likely reasons for putting down the bottle, according to the report. 
 
In December, Anheuser-Busch InBev announced it was launching a $100 million project to research cannabis-infused drinks with Canadian marijuana producer Tilray, according to the article. Constellations Brands, Corona&rsquo;s parent company, and Molson-Coors have also gone public with their plans to explore the role of cannabis in their products, according to the article.
