In a marketing ploy designed call attention to its signature fried chicken’s 12-hour marinating process, Popeyes has unveiled a limited-time 12-hour drive-thru.

Popeyes customers can order at the standalone menu board along Interstate 10 outside of Fort Stockton, Texas, then make the 12-hour drive to the brand’s flagship location in New Orleans, where their food will be waiting for them upon arrival, free of charge.

The drive-thru opens at noon on November 9th and will take orders for the next 24 hours. The brand also launched a special website for customers to sign up for the trek ahead of time and enter to win 12 months of free fried chicken. Those unable to make the drive need only share the 12-hour video on Twitter on November 9 to enter the free-chicken-for-a-year sweepstakes as well.

"We wanted a fun way to celebrate that we have always marinated our chicken for at least 12 hours," said Popeyes CMO Hope Diaz. "We don't take shortcuts and this drive-thru emphasizes that.”
