SIOUX FALLS, SD  Atomic Wingsthe 25+ unit chicken wing franchise on a mission to share authentic New York style Buffalo wings with the world, is coming in hot with its first location in the state. Officially open as of July 23rd at 1502 E 69th St., Atomic Wings of Sioux Falls is bringing sizzling hot, all-natural, hormone-free wings to the community.

Atomic Wings offers fresh wings, hand-tossed in your choice of 14 unique, proprietary flavors alongside other classics like tenders, sandwiches, and flatbreads.

The expansion is led by Eric and Stefanie Engelstad, who are area representatives developing throughout the Midwest. With a combined 13-plus years of experience in franchising, the pair is excited to bring new, high-quality food options to the markets they enter while impacting the communities on a higher level.

“A big part of our story is giving back to the community. Yes, we provide people with jobs and meals, but sometimes we’re able to do more than that,” Stefanie said. “During COVID, when nurses were tirelessly working long hours and were exhausted, we were able to provide something that impacts their lives. It’s not just about the food; it’s about giving them a moment of respite. With Atomic Wings, we’re excited to be able to expand on moments like those. We’re making an impact in someone’s life.”

While the two are currently committed to assisting new franchisees in opening new restaurants in their area, they are already looking forward to longer-term opportunities.

“We’re planning on 10 locations, but we’d definitely like to help open more than that. And we believe this market can support more,” Eric said. “We’d like to bring Atomic Wings to the community we live in and introduce the brand to a wider audience throughout the Midwest.”

The Engelstad’s Sioux Falls opening and additional growth plans are part of Atomic Wings’ larger growth story. Since it began franchising in 2016, Atomic Wings has celebrated 25 openings and nearly 300 signings. In 2024, Atomic Wings plans to open 11 new restaurants in multiple markets nationwide.

Its meticulously developed signature sauces — including mild, medium, hot, atomic, nuclear, Thai chili, garlic parm, chipotle BBQ, jerk BBQ, lemon pepper, teriyaki, sweet and tangy, mango habanero, and honey mustard — are just part of guests’ draw to the brand. Its ongoing commitment to quality and excellent customer service continues to elevate Atomic Wings above other chicken wing concepts.

As it continues to grow, Atomic Wings is looking to partner with owners and area representatives who share a passion for excellent customer service, quality food and community engagement.

“Every single wing we serve is a testament to our dedication to perfection — from the carefully selected ingredients to the personalized customer service we're known for,” said Atomic Wings CEO Zak Omar. “With this new opening, Atomic Wings is taking a big leap forward, and I couldn't be prouder of our team and Eric and Stefanie. We're not just committed to delivering unparalleled value to our customers; we're also deeply committed to supporting and celebrating the success of our franchisees. This is more than just another opening — it's a celebration of our shared passion and dedication to serving the best wings, hand in hand with exceptional franchise partners.”

Looking into 2024, Atomic Wings is targeting new locations throughout most of the continental U.S.
