Baltimore Business Journal: The Brass Tap is Expanding to Baltimore in December

After a slight delay, the craft beer bar plans to open in Baltimore in December.

After a permitting delay, The Brass Tap* is estimating a December opening date.

The Baltimore location, owned by Barry Lowenthal, will be the first in Maryland, with a location opening in National Harbor, MD next year as well.

"I feel like Baltimore is still early in adopting the craft beer scene compared to others I have seen around the country," Lowenthal said to the publication. "I think over the next five years craft beer will really grow in popularity [here] based on what has gone on over the past two years and I think Brass Tap can help bolster that."

The Baltimore Brass Tap will feature 60 taps, over 3,000 square feet of space and be housed in the upscale Fitzgerald apartment building. The menu will offer elevated pub food with a regional focus.

"There is a really comfortable look and feel here," Lowenthal said. "With luxury apartments upstairs and what is going on in the growing scene on Charles Street, I think this ties into a lot of excellent things in this neighborhood."
