BIGGBY® COFFEE celebrated its 30th anniversary on March 26 with a nationwide event that brought customers together to honor three decades of community, growth, and great coffee. To mark the occasion, the brand offered its signature Caramel Marvel Latte for just 95 cents — a nostalgic nod to the year it all began in 1995.

“Most businesses don’t make it past five years,” Bob Fish — co-founder and co-CEO of BIGGBY® — told QSR Magazine in a recent article.  “We’ve navigated three different economic cycles, a financial crisis and COVID. We’ve been nimble, perseverant and maintained our durability.”

What started as a single coffee shop in East Lansing, Michigan has grown into a 430+ unit franchise spanning 13 states. Over the past 30 years, BIGGBY® COFFEE has built its brand by putting people first — from franchise owners and team members to vendors and guests. The company has weathered economic downturns and global challenges while remaining focused on its mission to help people build lives they love.

BIGGBY® COFFEE’s growth has been fueled by strong vendor relationships and a thriving franchise system, now including second-generation owners expanding their family businesses. One of its early vendor partnerships — a coffee roaster that started with 20,000 pounds of coffee in the brand’s first year — scaled up to 2.6 million pounds in 2024.

Looking forward, BIGGBY® COFFEE is continuing its push toward ethical and sustainable business practices. The brand has already reached 50% farm-direct sourcing across its system as of August 2024 and is on track to achieve 100% by 2028. As it works toward becoming a $1 billion brand, BIGGBY® remains committed to transparency, environmental responsibility and community impact.

“Our investments continue to be in the restoration and protection of our Earth for the next generation,” Fish said. “We’re committed to focusing on health, safety and security as fundamental building blocks for personal and professional growth.”
