Boston Business Journal: Industrial supply company wants to add at least 10 Boston-area locations

Pirtek USA, a franchise that specializes in onsite hydraulic hose repairs, is planning to add 10 new locations in the Boston area over the course of the next couple years. The brand currently has 400 locations in 23 countries worldwide, with 52 of those locations being in here in the U.S.

“There’s hydraulics everywhere; you just don’t think about it,” said Gwyn O’Kane, vice president of development for Pirtek, in an interview with the Boston Business Journal.

“When you hop in your car and turn the steering wheel, when you turn on the AC, there’s hoses to supply you with nice cold air.”

The brand plans to open one new location every month in major U.S. metropolitan cities.

“We’re not like Dunkin’ Donuts on every street corner, but we look to put our franchise in about every 500,000-person populations base,” O’Kane said.

With the success of the current location in Avon, Pirtek looks to continue to grow in Boston and the greater Northeastern part of the U.S.
