CRESTWOOD, Mo. — The Brass Tap, the award-winning upscale American tavern franchise with more than 50 locations, is expanding its St. Louis-area presence with a newly signed lease in Crestwood, Missouri. The restaurant will be the second for franchisees Kush and Prapti Patel as they work toward opening five locations in the market.
The Crestwood signing follows the couple's March opening in Olivette and marks the next step in their plans to grow with The Brass Tap in the region.
“Our goal is to make The Brass Tap a staple in St. Louis, providing a great experience for people here,” Kush said. “We really want it to feel like home, with a strong focus on local beers to give guests a true taste of the community. It’s about creating a place where people can relax and enjoy what St. Louis has to offer.”
Kush grew up around his family’s liquor business, while Prapti brought restaurant and corporate IT experience. After getting married, they began looking for a business they could build together and found a fit with The Brass Tap. The couple plans to open five locations in the St. Louis area, a development plan that began with their Olivette restaurant.
The new restaurant will be located at 9541 Watson Road in a brand-new building at the Crestwood Crossing plaza. The location will feature The Brass Tap's signature experience, including craft beer, a curated cocktail program and a chef-led menu built around elevated pub fare.
“We knew we wanted something beer-focused,” Kush said. “St. Louis has such a strong beer culture — it’s a big deal here. But we didn’t just want a bar; we wanted a place with a full dining menu that appealed to a wide range of customers. The Brass Tap had everything we were looking for. It’s not just a bar; it’s a place where everyone can gather. Even families with kids can come here and enjoy the experience. That was really important to us.”
The Crestwood location adds to The Brass Tap's growing presence in Missouri as the brand continues to work with franchise partners interested in bringing its restaurant and bar concept to new markets.
The Brass Tap is part of FSC Franchise Co., a restaurant franchise group that also includes Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and Newk’s Eatery.
“Our development strategy is built on finding the right partners in the right markets, and Kush and Prapti are the perfect fit for the Crestwood area,” said Chris Elliott, CEO of FSC Franchise Co. “Every new location is a testament to the strength of our business model and the demand for a premium bar and grill experience. We are thrilled to see our footprint expand in Missouri and look forward to supporting the Patels as they bring this vision to life.”
