What did you do before franchising, and how did you decide franchising made sense for you?Edwards:&nbsp;I began my career as a physical therapist, having walked into a training room at UNLV back in 1992. Over the years, I've achieved my doctorate in physical therapy and have been a licensed physical therapist for 25 years. I worked internationally as a physical therapist in Belfast, Northern Ireland and have worked throughout the United States as a physical therapist totaling 16 states including Hawaii. My career has been both financially and personally rewarding. However, after almost 30 years in the medical field, I felt it was time for a change, to reinvent myself.I’ve always been interested in owning a local sports bar, a dream that goes back to my college days. So, I began exploring franchising as a way to make this dream a reality.1851: What was your perception of franchising prior to becoming a franchisee, and what do you want people to know about franchising now that you are in it?Edwards: I initially explored a franchise opportunity in Las Vegas, but found it lacking in support; it seemed like they just wanted to put their name on my bar and take a percentage of the profits without offering any real assistance.
