PASADENA, Md. – The Brass Tap, the award-winning upscale American tavern franchise with more than 50 locations, continues to grow in Maryland with its Pasadena location at 3110 Mountain Road. The restaurant opened this spring under husband-and-wife franchisees Hiral and Hely Patel.

The Patels bring more than two decades of franchise experience to The Brass Tap. Hiral opened a Subway restaurant in 2002 and later took over additional locations, while Hely opened Maryland's first Tropical Smoothie Cafe franchise in 2011. The couple discovered The Brass Tap during a family trip to Florida and saw it as the kind of community-focused sports bar they had long wanted to build together.

“It was kind of our dream,” Hely said. “We visited the corporate office about two years ago, started inquiring about the brand and then began looking for the right location.”

Pasadena is the first location under the Patels’ multi-unit agreement with The Brass Tap, with future restaurants planned for Gaithersburg, Germantown, White Marsh and Columbia.

“Hiral and Hely are exactly the kind of experienced, community-minded operators we want growing The Brass Tap,” said Chris Elliott, CEO of FSC Franchise Co. “Pasadena is off to a great start, and we’re excited to support them as they bring the brand to more communities across Maryland.”

The Brass Tap is part of FSC Franchise Co., a restaurant franchise group that also includes Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and Newk’s Eatery.
