The DQ Grill & Chill concept is accelerating its growth, specifically targeting Buffalo and Upstate New York. The brand plans to add up to 100 new stores across the state in the next 10 years.

“We view Buffalo as an area with great opportunity,” International Dairy Queen* Vice President of Franchise Development, Jim Kerr told the Buffalo Business First. “Buffalo is a solid market with strong family connections. Between our food and ice cream, we serve the best of both worlds."

According to the Buffalo Business First, the brand has already begun seeking qualified franchisees to join the proven system and has set its sites near Transit Road in Lancaster and Niagara Falls Boulevard in Niagara Falls. The Buffalo and Niagara areas could see up to six locations developed in the upcoming years.

“Everything we are building these days is a DQ Grill & Chill,” Kerr said.
