Business Insider: 13 Popular Fast-Food Items that Are Surprisingly Perfect for Vegans
Brands like McDonald’s, Burger King and Taco Bell are all appealing to vegans in an effort to reach a broader customer base.
McDonald’s made waves with vegans all over the world when it rolled out its McVegan burger in Finland and Sweden. But as Business Insider points out, McDonald’s is far from the only fast-food giant that’s catering to the large portion of consumers who don’t eat meat, dairy, egg or animal products.
Burger King, for example, offers French toast sticks for vegans who are looking for a quick breakfast on the go. White Castle also has its own veggie sliders, and Denny’s has a build your own burger option on its menu that can easily be catered to an animal product-free diet. Panera Bread, Subway, KFC, Oliver Garden, Red Robin, Domino’s, Pizza Hut, Au Bon Pain and even Taco Bell are other chains who are tapping into the vegan trend.
With more fast food chains and restaurant franchises add vegan options to their menus, it’s clear that this segment of consumers is a previously untapped market that’s open for brands to market to. Especially as health—and health food—continue to be increasingly important for consumers across the globe, franchises can capitalize on this movement to reach a broader customer base.
