Business Insider: McDonald’s Will Now Deliver Food to Your Door – but There’s a Catch

The fast-food chain will start testing its delivery service in Florida cities in January.

McDonald’s is going to start offering delivery service, but not for everyone. According to a recent Business Insider article, 200 restaurants in Tampa, Orlando, and Miami will start to deliver in January 2017 due to a partnership with UberEATS. By ordering through the company’s website or mobile app, customers can get McDonald’s brought right to their doors.

While fast-food chains have not caught on to delivery services very quickly, it makes sense for the biggest chain to be one of the first. Taco Bell was the first to offer delivery back in July 2015 through its partnership with DoorDash.

In addition to delivery, McDonald’s will soon start offering mobile ordering so customers can order and pay on their smartphones for food. The company plans to offer this service at 20,000 to 25,000 restaurants by 2018.
