In a recent interview with Business Radio X, Partner and Chief Growth Officer for Mici Italian, Matt Stanton discusses why, after 18 years of being family-owned and operated, the business decided to expand with franchising, quickly closing on three multi-unit franchise agreements in their first six months franchising in Phoenix, Dallas and Detroit.

Stanton, who has been in the restaurant business for over 11 years, stated that Mici has built a strong foundation over its 18 years in business, perfecting its menu and service model, which made it a great candidate to pursue franchising. He added that with the right partners, franchising is a great way to scale and add insight to a brand.

“Jeff Miceli, our Founder and President, is a very ingenious guy and has done a lot of things to take complexity out of the kitchen,” Stanton said. “So, when you have a restaurant model that is very systematic and simple, it becomes very scalable and easier for us to pursue franchising as an option.”

In the interview, Staton also discusses how with this growth, Mici has a goal of sticking to its core values of being a family-orientated restaurant and partnering with franchises who share those values.
