Caribou Coffee has promoted its president Tom Butcher to CEO, according to an article in Nation’s Restaurant News. Butcher joined the coffee chain as president in June 2017 and replaces former CEO Sarah Spiegel, “who left the role last fall for ‘personal reasons,’ the company said,” according to the article.

The article said that “before coming to Caribou, Butcher spent 20 years in merchandising and marketing roles at Target.”

Butcher indicated that he was excited to lead the “iconic Midwestern brand,” the article said, and shared in a recent statement, “‘Every day at Caribou we have the opportunity to help people start their morning with an amazing, locally roasted cup of coffee and a great interaction. It's a moment that can make a person's day, and I think that's truly rewarding,’” according to the article.
