Checkers & Rally's Opens Three New Locations Since the Beginning of the Year

The iconic burger brand is poised for incredible growth in new and existing development markets.

Checkers & Rally's has started 2016 off strong with the opening of three new restaurants in Texas, California and Florida. These new openings are indicative of the growth the brand has seen over the last few years because of system’s dedication to strategic development, magnetic culture and strong consumer positioning.

Joining the Checkers family in Houston is franchisee Nick Panjwani. In Moreno Valley, California, franchisee Dr. Bhaskara Munagala will bring Checkers to residents of that community. In Clermont, Florida, franchisees Salim Valiani and Ayaz Sutaria are now open and serving Checkers crazy good food.

In addition to the openings, the brand also approved eight new franchise candidates in January. Jennifer Durham, Checkers vice president of franchise development, said this is an exciting time for Checkers and they couldn’t be happier to work with this new core group of franchisees.

“We are excited about what the future holds for our new franchisees. We have all the right tools for them to thrive,” Durham said. “At Checkers, we pride ourselves on our incredible training, operational and marketing support, plus our delicious food to drive restaurant traffic and ultimately franchisee success.”

Checkers’ success is a testament to burgers being one of the most popular items across the QSR industry. According to a report from The NPD Group, 9 billion burgers were ordered at U.S. restaurants in 2014, a three percent rise from 2013’s figure.

Operationally, burgers, along with other specialty sandwiches and sides, can be a key driver of unit success and are the perfect food for customers on the go. Durham added that serving food quickly is an integral part of sustaining brand success, but quality is just as, if not more, important.

“At Checkers, it is our mission to deliver quality products with the freshest ingredients to our customers in a prompt fashion. We feel that we are one of the top players in the industry because of these core values,” Durham said. “We started 2016 off strong and we hope to carry that momentum throughout the year.”
