Wildly popular chicken chain Chick-fil-A suffered two unexpected losses in the last two weeks as the franchise brand missed out on two potentially lucrative airport contracts at New York's Buffalo Niagara International Airport and San Antonio International Airport.

According to a recent CNBC article, both airports removed Chick-fil-A from their restaurant development plans after local politicians raised concerns about the brand’s anti-LGBTQ history. In addition to being closed on Sundays for religious reasons, Chick-fil-A has faced criticism and boycotts in the past for its donations to anti-LGBTQ groups along with CEO Dan Cathy's public comments opposing gay marriage, the article noted.

In response to these decisions, Chick-fil-A released the following statement, included in the article: "Recent coverage about Chick-fil-A continues to drive an inaccurate narrative about our brand. We want to make it clear that our sole focus is on providing delicious food and welcoming everyone. We do not have a political or social agenda."
