Chipotle Sales Soar as a Result of DoorDash Partnership

How the popular fast-casual restaurant is increasing sales through a third-party delivery system.

Iconic Chipotle Mexican Grill has increased its sales in the first quarter by an astronomical amount. The reason? A powerful combination of partnering with DoorDash and integration of direct delivery through Chipotle’s app.

According to Nation’s Restaurant News, Chipotle “reported near double digit growth in same-store sales and a 100% increase in digital sales during earnings last week.”

After Brian Niccol, CEO of Chipotle, stepped into his new position last March, the brand ramped up their efforts to partner with DoorDash to increase brand visibility and access. As a result, the fast-casual company has seen an explosion in its sales.

“Digital sales are the fastest-growing part of Chipotle’s business, accounting for 15.7% of Chipotle sales in the first quarter. The company is logging about 1 million digital transactions per week. Specifically, off-premise sales powered by DoorDash have grown 1,500% year-over-year since it began working with DoorDash,” stated Nation’s Restaurant News.

The company stated they are focused in evolving their brand to meet the needs of the modern consumer. To celebrate such a victory and the one-year anniversary of the national delivery partnership, all orders made on April 30, 2019 through the DoorDash app will come with a free order of guacamole and chips.
