Franchise industry veteran Brian Gies is joining Church’s Chicken as Executive VP and Global Chief Marketing Officer, the brand announced earlier this week.

Gies comes to the brand with ample experience, having spent 17 years leading the marketing efforts at Burger King and another three and a half years doing the same for TGI Friday’s, according to Food Business News. In his role, Gies will be responsible for implementing Church’s new domestic marketing approach and global brand positioning as the franchise brand looks to “expand its presence and grow worldwide market share,” the announcement said.

"Brian is joining the team at a very exciting time. He has proven successful in building winning teams, delivering results and working with franchisees to grow their business," CEO Joe Christina said in a statement. "His first-hand knowledge and excellent track record fits right in with the culture we are building and will play an intricate part of achieving our vision to be the global franchisor of choice."
