CNBC: May Has Strongest Month for Hiring in Nearly 2 Years

New LinkedIn study reports strong month of hiring.

Hiring in May by U.S. employers significantly increased from April and last year, according to a recent CNBC article and LinkedIn study. Numbers show the month has been the strongest month for hiring since June 2015. LinkedIn reported that hiring in May was 2.4 percent higher than this time last year and 6.2 percent higher than in the previous month.

 

Workers are moving to cities like Portland, Oregon, Austin, Denver and Charlotte where there is a lower cost of living than say, San Francisco. Industries experiencing big increases in hiring are architecture, manufacturing and engineering. The report also found that what is currently needed in top cities are workers with health-care degrees and health-care management skills
