CNBC: MOOYAH Franchise Owner Discusses What $15 an Hour Minimum Wage Means for Main Street

In a segment with CNBC, Patrick Guay, who owns three MOOYAH Burgers, Fries and Shakes across Massachusetts and Connecticut, discusses his thoughts on President Biden’s plan to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour. Some of the concerns over Biden’s plan include slowing economic recovery, reducing the number of employees small businesses are able to  employ, and higher costs for Guests. Independently owned and operated franchise businesses like MOOYAH Burgers, Fries and Shakes will be among those affected if this proposal goes through.

“I’m not sure that it’s fair to burden everything on the small business owner,” Guay told CNBC. “And then to have us make the decision as to how much of this we are going to pass on to our customers.”

Another factor that will affect small business owners is the increased cost within the supply chain.
