The franchising industry is booming across the U.S. According to <a href="http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/11/how-we-chose-americas-star-franchisees.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=cnbc-reveals-americas-star-franchisees-for-2016-4573" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">CNBC</a>, there are close to 3,000 franchise companies that collectively contribute more than $1 trillion to the American economy every year. A major part of what makes these businesses so successful are their teams of dedicated and passionate franchisees. Now CNBC is shining the spotlight on the top 50 franchisees in the U.S.&#8212;one for every state. Franchisees named on CNBC&#8217;s list of &#8220;<a href="http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/11/50-big-franchise-success-stories-americas-star-franchisees-2016.html?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=cnbc-reveals-americas-star-franchisees-for-2016-4573" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">America&#8217;s Star Franchisees 2016</a>&#8221; are the best of the best. The publication and its research partner, <a href="http://franchisebusinessreview.com/cnbc-americas-top-franchisees/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=cnbc-reveals-americas-star-franchisees-for-2016-4573" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Franchise Business Review</a>, vetted more than 28,500 individual franchisees from 364 different brands. Brands were judged on their strong proof of concept in multiple markets, their franchise disclosure document and their financial performance. Franchisees were then evaluated on their satisfaction with the franchise system and their regard for management at the corporate office. In its evaluation process, CNBC found that its star franchisees have a lot in common. The majority have been active in the industry for years and work with a spouse or family member, and some operate low-cost franchises.
