Founded in 2012 by Ashish and Sakshi Tulsian,<a href="https://www.posist.com/?utm_source=1851franchise.com&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=companies-changing-technology-in-franchising-posist-technologies-2706632" target="_blank" rel="nofollow" style="text-decoration-line:none" target="_blank"> POSist Technologies</a> has seen explosive growth in its six years. Not only has the company&rsquo;s flagship POS tool been adopted by thousands of restaurants across six countries, POSist has expanded their offerings from billing solutions to a comprehensive suite of restaurant management tools, including inventory management, theft control and enterprise configuration.

Ashish says he and Sakshi came up with the idea for POSist after searching for software solutions for their own restaurant. When that search revealed a gap in the industry, Ashish saw an opportunity to apply his tech expertise &mdash; the career engineer had already founded the telecom company TechnoApex before venturing into the restaurant industry &mdash; to build the solutions he saw a need for in the industry.

We talked to Ashish about why it&rsquo;s crucial for restaurants to have cutting-edge POS systems and how POSist has dramatically expanded their service offerings in such a short period of time.

1851: In a nutshell, what is POSist?

Tulsian: POSist is a cloud-based restaurant operating system that provides end-to-end restaurant management solutions. From stock- and inventory-management and billing to automated marketing and CRM, POSist provides owners and managers with real-time reporting and in-depth analysis, allowing complete control over their entire operation.

Tulsian: Cloud technology has enabled restaurants to completely automate their operations. An updated POS not only streamlines operations, it also significantly reduces manual labor and the scope of error typically involved with running a restaurant. Competition in the restaurant space is intense, and leveraging the right technology helps restaurants stay a step ahead. By monitoring each aspect of the operations through intelligent reporting, restaurants can avoid the pitfalls that cause other restaurants to fail.

Tulsian: POSist provides in-depth solutions for franchises and enterprise restaurants, making it possible to control each aspect of a system&rsquo;s operations from one single panel. For instance, our Head Office Module allows restaurateurs to manage multiple outlets across different geographic locations from one central panel; the Base Kitchen Module controls entire kitchen operations, from yield management to food costing to recipe management to forecasting; Supply Chain Management gives complete control over daily stock consumption, generating purchase orders and managing multiple vendors; and the Master Franchise platform manages sales and payouts and keeps track of all units. 

1851: How has POSist expanded its offerings since the company was founded?

Tulsian: POSist initially started as a POS company, focused entirely on billing solutions. Today, POS encompasses only 10 to 15 percent of our total product offerings. Some of our biggest products right now are stock &amp; inventory management, theft control, in-depth franchise management and overall enterprise configuration, which is mobile- and cloud-based. The depth of those products makes POSist suited for a range of different use cases. From the smallest take-out restaurants to the largest fine dining restaurants and QSR chains, POSist streamlines the entire scope of operations and provides sophisticated intelligence to aid in every aspect of the business.
