Daily News Journal: Checkers & Rally's Delivers First Modular Restaurant

Smryna, Tennessee Checkers restaurant popped up overnight with new Model 4.0 design module

The scene in Smyrna, Tennessee changed overnight thanks to a new Checkers* restaurant that was dropped off on Wednesday morning.

According to the Daily News Journal, a modular 1,100-square-foot building was delivered to the site on Sgt. Asbury Hawn Way around 7 a.m.Wednesday morning by American Development Partnership.

Checkers and Rally's recently launched its Model 4.0 design, so franchisees can choose a traditional value engineered on-site build, the modular building a new modular building (the iconic format that Checkers and Rally’s are known for), or a new facility based on reclaimed shipping containers.

"It's a much quicker process," than typical onsite construction, Caleb McMillen, the development firm's chief operating officer told the Daily News Journal.
